For the most part, the negative effects of caffeine will only show in women who have four or more cups of coffee every day, an amount that equals about 400 mg of caffeine. This amount can cause a delay in the time it takes to conceive.

Although the most common source of caffeine it is also important to take into consideration other foods and drinks that have caffeine. Make sure you are counting everything when you are calculating your daily intake. Other sources include tea, sodas, chocolate, and even coffee ice cream.

It is important to cut back slowly when you are reducing the amount of caffeine in your diet. Just like other drugs, you can have symptoms of withdrawal if you do it to fast or cut it out all at once. Cut out a few mg per day over a period of a few days or weeks to make sure you don’t get headaches or other side effects.

If you are having a hard time cutting out coffee or soft drinks switch over to decaffeinated drinks. Although they are not completely caffeine free, they contain a significantly less amount of caffeine. This way you can still enjoy your morning coffee without getting all the caffeine from a regular cup.
